Hello, I'm Anthony or just Ant. I am the Joint Clinical Lead for East Midlands Surgery in Children Network. I am the joint clinical lead with Nitin having previously been the head of service for paediatric surgery at Leicester. I'm lucky to work with such a fantastic team that have steered me tactfully since I joined the team.

Hi! my name is Claudia. My NHS career spans close to two decades where I have predominantly worked in operational management roles in children and paediatric services. My only step away from children’s services was to qualify as an Adult Psychotherapeutic Counsellor where I worked for a community charity offering talking therapies to women.

Hi I’m Hannah the Deputy Lead Nurse for PCC and SIC for the East Midlands. I trained in Manchester at Salford University and on qualifying in 2010 started my first nursing post on PICU at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital I then transferred to PICU at BCH due to an interest in cardiac surgery. After just over 3 years in PICU I decided I wanted a new challenge in the Emergency Department. I worked in the Emergency Department at UHCW for 5 years progressing to Unit Manager. During my career I continue to have a real passion for surgery and in 2018 I took on a new challenge of Ward Sister on the Surgical Day Care Unit at BCH.

Hi, my name is Katie and I am pleased to be the PCC & LTV educator for East Midlands ODN. My career started in 2012 when I qualified as a Children’s nurse from the University of Wolverhampton. From here I worked briefly in school nursing but missed the pace of acute paediatrics and moved to a DGH in Lincolnshire for a few years. This is where I found my passion for HDU nursing. I then relocated to Oxfordshire with my husband who was in the forces at the time. I worked on PICU/PHDU for 6 years where my interests were neuro, catheter care and critical care transport.

Hi, I’m Katie – the Network Data Analyst. I’ve worked in the NHS for 12 years, specialising in data, audit, and using analytics to support service improvement. In my current role, I lead on several key projects for the Network, including managing the Pan-Midlands Paediatric Bed Capacity Dashboard for Paediatric Critical Care, running regular data quality audits, and developing bespoke tools such as the Club Foot Dashboard for the Surgery in Children Network.

Hello, I'm Mya! I am the Network Team Administrator. Before joining the NHS, I studied Business Studies at the University of Northampton. This is my first role in the NHS, but I've had the opportunity to work in various fields, including hospitality, healthcare as a Junior Data Entry Operator and higher education as a Black Student Advocate.

I am the Clinical Lead for the EMSICN. I am a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon in Leicester and was appointed as a Consultant in 2009. During training I have worked at many Childrens Hospitals including Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Great Ormond street and Adelaide.

Patrick Davies is a consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care in Nottingham, UK, and an Honorary Assistant Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Nottingham. He has been East Midlands Paediatric Critical Care Network Lead since Autumn 2021, He is Treasurer and on the council of the UK Paediatric Intensive Care Society.

Hi, my name is Samantha – but I’m known as Sam, I am the PCC Network Lead Nurse. I have worked in the NHS for 28 years as a children’s nurse. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings within specialist children’s hospitals, district generals, teaching hospitals and community. I then moved to commissioning where I worked within SEND, Children’s, Maternity, CAMHS and Personalisation.
